I found a couple of boxes of aluminum TMJ 9mm in my safe. I wonder about those.

the stuff y'all say sticks is TULA, russian made.

I have shot hundreds of 7.62x39 without a single jam, lacquered and non have never been a problem in the ar or the lar 47.

right now, I would suggest you get any you can and hold it, things are gonna change soon and it won't be for the better.

7.62x39 Ammo For Sale
7.62x39 AmmoSGAmmo.com | Bulk 7.62x39 Ammo For Sale | Buy Ak47 Ammo Online | Lowest 7.62x39 Ammo Prices | The 7.62×39mm round is an intermediate size rifle cartridge of Soviet origin that was designed during World War II. Due to the worldwide proliferation of the SKS and AK-47 pattern rifles, the cartridge is used by both military and civilians alike. 7.62×39mm ammunition is purportedly tested to function well in temperatures ranging from −50 to 50 °C (−58 to 122 °F) cementing its usefulness in cold polar or hot desert conditions. Shortly after the war, the world's most recognized military pattern rifle was designed for this cartridge: the AK-47. The cartridge remained the Soviet standard until the 1970s, and is still one of the most common intermediate rifle cartridges used around the world. 7.62x39 ammo is currently manufactured in many countries, but the primary supply source for the US consumer market are factories in Russia that lead the market in terms of price and sales volume. Additionally significant quantities of 7.62x39 ammo are made in Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Serbia for sale in the United States commercial market. Also, from time to time military surplus stock piles are liquidated and imported to the USA, mostly Yugoslavian 1970s vintage M67 Ball 7.62x39 Ammo.

yup rip, steel case ammo is going to run dirtier. the steel case does not expand allowing expanding gases to blow backward around the case. brass cases do expand, creating a seal to reduce that blow back, keeping the expanding gases moving forward. the lacquer coating, besides corrosion protection, acts as a lubricant. steel case ammo can cause a little more wear, mainly harder on the extractor. and yes, steel cased ammo actually can be reloaded weather it has berdan or boxer primers, it just takes a little extra work and your only gonna get a limited amount of reloads out of a single steel case due to the hardness. aluminum case ammo is gonna have about the same performance as brass case ammo but aluminum is a one and done case. although, i have seen an aluminum case split from high pressure. all in all, if your firearm will run steel case, run it, keep it lubed and clean it when needed. to me, it's really no dirtier than direct impingement.

out of the 5-6 ranges i visit, i've never had any of them say no steel case ammo, they all say no steel core, steel jacketed, or tracer bullets and all but one says no fmj rifle ammo
