Continuously Variable Transmission. Basically there is a series of belts in the transmission that take over the load as the gears shift. When driving, you never feel the gear shift - it keeps a constant load on the engine.
The wife had a Nissan Murano around '07. Drove it for maybe 4 years 65K miles with no transmission problems. We had plenty of other problems with that car, but never an issue with the CVT. so like a polaris sxs? Polaris SXS probably had a higher top end speed.

I sat in it. Surprisingly, not bad. Lots of head room. That is the one thing I do miss about my Soul. That thing had a great design and ample headroom. I love my Sonata, but I do miss the headroom the Soul provided. If you can fit in it, I am sure the Spark will be okay. I drove a Nissan Versa with a CVT back around 2012 on a mystery shop test drive. Not a fan.

I am 6' 7" and have no trouble with headroom or legroom in them.
