This morning I can feel it more, can’t cough, or strain much at all and not feel it. It’s not hurting though just uncomfortable. Told that to Dr. when he called me to follow up, and he recommended I call the surgeon first thing tomorrow.

We are short handed at work and have a ton of work to do. If I could get this fixed and be back by next week I’d feel better about it. I’m thinking about holding off, but don’t want to risk something worse.

Anybody have any input?

Hey brother I get jammed up in the same position your speaking of . Just bite the bullet and go get it done before it gets worse. Besides your ALWAYS gonna have a ton of work to do and reasons to put this off . Just go !
Get it done and out of the way.

I’ve had one in my stomach for many years. My doctor said if it doesn’t bother me don’t worry about it. Said if they did surgery that I would always have pain in that area. I’ve just Road it out.

I fooled with an Umbilical Hernia for years. Some times I would even be out fishing and would have to sit in the boat for an hour or two before I could finally start fishing again. Finally met with a surgeon who convinced me it was time to take care of it. After the surgery and a few weeks of not doing anything stressful I was not finally just over it but I don’t know how to describe it but it made my whole stomach feel better and just gave me my balance back and it was the best thing I could have done for my overall health.

I have had open surety for inquinal years ago then this past year had one that had gotten really bad and was close to strangulating. Young surgeon in San Angelo repaired it with the Da vinci robot and it was piece of cake day surgery. No enema required and worst part was the Covid Test. Hernias can be deadly so repair it when you can.

I’ve changed my opinion. I now think it would be best to roll the dice and let it fester.

Get it done. I had a double inguinal hernia 4 years ago. At the hospital at 7am. Surgery at 9 and home 4 hours later. Felt fine a couple to 3 days later. Didnt follow the Dr's orders very well and have some scar tissue because of it. I should have rested a few days more than going back to work 4 days after surgery.

I'd have the surgery ASAP.

Meanwhile, have your Chinese foreign exchange student push your yard mowing machine so your hyena don't get disturbed.

Get it done now. I am the guy that let it ride foe a couple of months to finish up some things before I was down. Mine was ingurnal, and it kept me slowed down every day. I was about to start a section of fence that was 2.2 miles long, and around noon that day I felt like my whole lower intestine was in my right sack. I called the surgeon that day and the next day I had it repaired. He said I was lucky he had a cancellation and that it didn’t go septic, and it was much worse than when I did my initial visit. He stipulated bed rest for three days, minimal movement for the next 4 days, no lifting over 5 lbs for two weeks, 20 lbs after 4 weeks and at week 8 I was to be careful. 8 months later I still had a little dull pain, and then one day it was gone. I can feel the mesh once in a while, but it is just scratchy.

I hope you pull through and everything works out and you get to feeling better. If not, can I have your new trolling motor?

So, you're a regular scratcher? grin

Use an ice pack as the doc says and the recovery will be quick and easy. I started walking on the highway daily and would get the ice on when I got back home. My weight restriction was 10 lbs which can be tough!

I think BCBassCat should definitely do the walking on the highway part during his rehab.

same here, had my gall bladder removed and he found a hernia and fixed that too
