1st place saturday for belton was a little under 6 pounds and 1st place sunday was i think 14 1/2 pounds. i have been hearing from a lot of people saying its really tough this winter

Water temps 50-51.
Visibility about 4-6' from dam to Temple Lake Park, about 1-2' Morgans Point to Cedar Ridge, and fairly stained from sand flats to Hwy 36 bridge.
Sun hasn't been out all week so baitfish haven't been moving up like the week before.
Small jaw bite has been decent. Mid February you should expect to start seeing fish staging on points.
I'd give Belton about 3 out of 5 stars right now. I'm enjoying the break from the pleasure boats and jetskis especially after this season we just had.

LOL...Y E S ! ! I've only been on Belton a few times but it is a very pristine lake. Love the core lakes without docks!

I am going tomorrow - I am sure the main lake will be choppy but where I plan on boating to should not be too bad (knockin on wood) - wasn't a few weeks ago when the main lake was pretty rough.
