Jc’s Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report.
As the Admiral Seas It
Fishing Report: 01/16/21 to 01/23/21
Stop by our Office for up to Date Fishing Report

Marlin fishing has been very good at the Lighthouse and Golden Gate, all week drifting live baits.
We caught and released: 3 marlin on Saturday, 1 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and 2 on Friday.

End of season, cold water very few, we just caught 2 on Thursday.

Fishing has been very slow this week, very few reports.
We caught 4 tunas on Saturday.

We have been catching a few wahoo this week about 20 pounds up at Los Arcos on rapalas.

Inshore fishing has been very good for sierras from the Lighthouse to Los Arcos and Migrino on hoochies, also a variety of bottom fish.

Stop by Jc’s Sportfishing office for the up to date fishing report.

See you all in Cabo - JC.

Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: The forecast for Cabo San Lucas in the coming two weeks is predicting the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 23°C, with a high for the two weeks of 26°C expected on the afternoon of Saturday 30th. The mean minimum temperature will be 15°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Tuesday 26th at 14°C. The fortnight ahead will remain predominantly dry. On the whole winds are likely to be light.

From The Admirals Kitchen!
Our all-time favorite fish tacos recipe! These are loaded with fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned plump fish. Don't skip the best fish taco sauce - an irresistible garlic lime crema.

6 Panamei Wahoo steaks
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
6 garlic cloves
1/3 cup cilantro or parsley, chopped
2 Tbsp. Cajun seafood seasoning
1 lemon, juiced
Lemon wedges to garnish

1. Spray grill with nonstick spray or brush with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Preheat on high for about 10 minutes.

2. In a blender, mix butter, oil, garlic, cilantro, lemon juice and seasoning. Puree into a smooth sauce. When ready to cook, brush both sides of fillets with sauce.

3. Place wahoo steaks on grill and cook, turning once or twice. Brush more sauce as needed.

4. Fish is done when it flakes easily (about 5 minutes). Serve with lemon wedges.

Tamarind-Mezcal Sour
Smoky mezcal and savory bitters are rounded out by sweet-tart lemon juice and tamarind puree in this punchy cocktail.

2 tablespoons Tamarind-Citrus Syrup
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) manzanilla sherry
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounces) mezcal joven espadín or Del Maguey Vida de San Luis del Rio
2 dashes Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters
Pineapple fronds, edible flowers, sliced star fruit, and orange peel, for garnish (optional)

Combine tamarind-citrus syrup, lemon juice, sherry, mezcal, and bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with pineapple fronds, edible flowers, and a skewer of star fruit and orange peel, if desired.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs. You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
