A fellow hunting lease member from Mississippi cooked this at our hunting lease last month and it was awesome. He used a pork butt but all we had in our freezer was a 2.5 lb pork loin so it might be a little lean. Simple. Rub down meat with salt/pepper/some garlic powder or rub it down with rub of choice. I chose Meat Churches Gospel since we had it on hand. Pour peppers including juice in crockpot. Maybe add a beer about 5 hours later. I'll let ya'll know how this turns out. I'm much more a pork smoker than a crockpot cooker. Cheers. [Linked Image]

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Yup. I have had that recipe with beef instead of pork - tender and spicy.

my wife makes that and for whatever reason i'm just not a big fan of it.
I feel like the peppers give the meat a bitter taste or something. hard to explain.

I've done the ranch dressing packet with pepperoncini and beef. Really good. Turn the juice into a thick gravy with a roux at the end...

Well [censored], I may have just F'd it up. Mississippi coon-a.s buddy said to add a boiled down beef bullion cube. We don't have any - only chicken bullion. Don't have any Au Jus or Ranch packets (town too far away) so decided to add a half cup of Dale's Seasoning. Maybe Dale's soy sauce, onion, garlic, sugar, ginger, paprika, and monosodium glutamate mixture will change the religion of my Mississippi bud's palate (I doubt that though). I may add a beer to it later if it needs moisture (loin vs butt) but nothing more at this point. The jury will convene and reach their decision around 6 pm. I'll announce their decision then. Thank ya'll for your input. Believe this will eat nonetheless. (I'd rather be smoking it). Cheers. [Linked Image]

For beer go with a Shiner Bock or some sort of Oktoberfest.
