Theres a few places that have trailers and small cabins who cater to the tournament guys. But they book up fast.
Try Tommy at river street lodging or The lady who has Lorainas cantina.. she put in some new cabins. sorry I don't have the numbers my phone took a dump a while back..

We rent a house close to blackbrush for 200 a night, 3/2 secluded and really nice and quite. Leave our stuff out and never an issue. Used to stay at river street and had issues with him double booking etc and calling us the day we are to arrive and tell us he’s going to have to find us a different place.

Does Byron Velvick still own one of the motels there? Negative, he lost that in foreclosure years ago. All the hotels are the lake are gone.

We had five staying in one trailer and he sold us out the day we were to arrive because he had a group of 8 need a place. That was the third time he did that and it was the last conversation we ever had, never again.

Amistad Lodge went the way of the others but they are trying to develp condos out of it. Not sure how well that will work. We stayed with Desiree once when Tommy was booked and the rooms were tiny since they are small portable buildings. Tommy has had a rough time with Covid but his lodging is clean and well maintained. The big tournaments are his saving grace so it squeezes the regular fisherman.

I usually rent a trailer with Mr Tim or at Patches. Mr patches had a bait store years back and he passed away, but his wife still has 5 trailers that she rents out. Her number is 830-308-3808. Tim has 4 trailers there near 454 his number is 432-967-0170. I've been going there for years and I haven't had any problems with them. I go there alot, I even have a boat storage there.

I’ve stayed at Tim’s twice on the corner of 454 and River Street. Both times kids from a nearby trailer would show up at all hours of the day and night and both times we had items stolen. They would walk right between his enclosed shed and the trailer, then act lost once they spotted us. Unlocked my truck one night so my buddy could grab something out of it. I was in bed sleeping. Must have dosed off right after and didn’t lock it. They searched every compartment in my truck and took several items. Previous trip I was loading up the boat and set a digital camera on the back of the boat. I then ran inside for a quick trip to the bathroom. Came back outside and the camera was gone. The camera was the most expensive item, but the most valuable item was the $15 memory card with my young kids’ Christmas pictures on them. Both times I was careless, so I share the responsibility, but beware. I’ve stayed in the same area multiple times with Tommy and never had an issue with booking, scheduling, or neighborhood kids. So I doubt very seriously it was random kids roaming around.

After fishing was so good 2006/2007 and then got so bad it hurt the economy in the area bad Yes it did. Broke a lot of hearts and bank accounts. What's crazy... those three motels were built and thrived LONG before the big explosion ??
