So the devil rabbit ate off all of the leaves, but didn't touch the stem. Would you consider that topped, or do I need to trim off a bit of the stem? The new leaves have budded and are starting to come in already.

I would let it go a while and get as much leaf surface as it can right now to get energy to the plant. Just from the stress it's been through from getting eaten it might put off an explosion of growth.

Not veggie related but I'm happy to announce that my azaleas survived wintergeddon . No blooms (other than the "Encores" ) but everything looks to be doing well .

Last year's collards are up and blooming . Even found a pot full of yellow onions from last year . I really need to get organized .

Don't know what color the cayenne's are. Burpee seeds. Color not listed. We'll see!

I grew a dragon a couple years ago. It produced a ton. You're going to like it.

I topped these in the pots 2 weeks ago as well. Really made a difference in the fullness of the plant.

Running behind on my garden this year. Just got my peppers in the ground yesterday.

2 Ghost pepper

I like them to be 4" tall and at least 3-4 sets of true leaves. Going store bought your plants should be plenty tall with multiple sets of true leaves Your ghost might be a little behind your others. You could top them today if you wanted. I topped a few yesterday that have been in the ground a few weeks. If you didn't fertilize when you planted yesterday, you can go with something simple like Miracle Gro water soluble plant food. Give them a little feeding and they will take off.

Yea everything is already 6-8" tall. Fertilized and mixed in new compost into the soil before planting them. Just didn't want to shock anything and wanted the roots to get settled and set before I did anything. Looks like ill do some trimming then.

You're good to go. They'll be fine. This year I didn't acclimate my garage grow peppers very well and just planted them straight into the garden. Most got sunburn like a red head passed out on the beach the following two days after planting. Then a light frost a week later. A lot looked horrible. My KS Lemmon Starburst lost every one of it's leaves from it. It's put off all new leaves now and the others you can't even tell anything ever happened to them. Peppers can take just about any shock/stress you can throw at them. The rain this week will do them a lot of good.
