I haven't been catfishing for too many years to count but want to give it a try again. I never used stink bait but was just given a great big can of it. What is the best way to keep it on the hook and what type of hook should I use? I was planning to try a carolina rig which is what I used to do. I also saved up a dozen bleach bottles and want to try some of those. Any tips on that would be appreciated. I want to catch some nice eating size cats. Thx.

Size 6 or 8 treble.
Stink bait of choice.
Small weight.
Small bobber.

Chum area

Thx. The guy that gave me the stinkbait said something about a way to keep it on the hook. I think he mentioned cloth.

My two cents if I were fishing for channel cats and you have a boat. Bait an area around some standing timber with soured corn, range cubes, milo, or some other type of grain. I prefer range cubes because they’re easy to use and they sink. You can use a sponge on your hook or buy hooks set up for stink bait. I don’t know what kind of bait you’re using or the consistency of it.

I would use Stubby’s catfish bait for three reasons. It sinks without weight. It stays on a treble hook well. IT WORKS ! Good luck Sir !

Just telling it like I see it Shannon, but you’re right, I need to bring my buddy and go with you again. Right now, I’m dealing with blood pressure problems and he’s got a premie grand baby so we both need a little more time. I’ve got it in my sights though ! thumb

My go to baits are Mr. Whiskers and Sure Shot. Haven't tried Stubby's yet, but hear it is good stuff also.

2nd approval Sure shot, Benny is a great wealth of information

Also the folks at that sell Stubbys are also top notch folks.

Used to use and had great luck on Danny kings but something changed and simply stopped working for me.
