Hello, I am interested in making a whitebass fishing trip on thr Sabinr River when they make their spawning run. Probably late Feb. Looking for info on water level for best odds of hitting it about right. What river level station name would help. Thanks

Thanks for info. At the Beckville Gauge what would be to high a water level to give it a try? What would be the ideal water level if I could pick my days to go? Retired so I can go anytime.

I searched a thread from last year about the above question. It said 17- is good. I'm not sure how low is too low on the other end though. Look below for flood stages from the N. Weather service site.
Major Flood Stage: 35 Moderate Flood Stage: 30 Flood Stage: 26 Action Stage: 25.5 Low Stage (in feet): 0

I prefer it to be around 12 feet at the Beckville gage. If it’s over 20 feet, I’m not going.

I went Monday and fished from the sand bar. Caught 4 keepers. I mostly catfish Rayburn so don't really need a freezer full of sand bass so happy if I get my supper. Guides expect things to pick up after Valentines. They say now it's load the boat one day, nothing the next.

Those are nice sandbass. I have heard they are huge in the Sabine.
