The good old days! banana

Not if you worked for Gibson's. They convinced me they had things turned around and need my help, so I signed on as Hard Lines Merchandiser Manager. After about three months I realized that I had jumped on a sinking ship.

The last Gibsons I remember was the one in Vernon, sat on 283. They had a really good fishing section.

I think there are still a few around. Most of the stores were franchised and the Gibson family only had about 60-70 of theirs left when they went under.

I've still got 3 Gibson guitars, and the red, 1971 Gibson ES335 is my "house is on fire" guitar, the one I'd grab if my house was in flames!

I also have an '05 Gibson Les Paul Standard, "Honeyburst."
I put some Lumbucker Pickups in it, but still have the original pups that came with it.

I have a 1995 Gibson ES135, black.

Addendum: I sold another ES135 a few years back, and my first ever guitar, I also sold back when I needed money. It was a 1984 Gibson Les Paul Studio, no photos.

My Dad worked for Gibson's through the 70's. We moved all over the midwest opening stores.

Nice Indian. The Gibson hollows and semi-hollows are my favorites

If you're ever in Memphis, swing by the Gibson factory there and take the tour. They start you on the receiving dock where they get product and take you through all the steps to make a Gibson (hollow body if I remember). Last step is where several guys tune them and then play a bit to check them out. Pretty good pickers working there.

Then go across the street to the Rock and Soul Museum.

A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
Judge asks " first offender"?
She replied "first a Gibson then a Fender"

I have more than 25, fewer than 75.

Addendum: I'm leaving out the drums, basses, amps and pedals.

Didn't know what they were until I watched a Netflix flick called The Queens Gambit. I'm 67 and probably never had a martini.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

A good vodka martini with Maytag blue cheese olives is hard to beat.
