I read that a survey of small business owners indicated that once the Covid restrictions are lifted it will be a full year to reach pre-Covid employment levels. The $15/hour mandate will serve only to extend that.

The government induced pain is no where close to over.

A wage hike like this would also have the consequence of disqualifying many from their benefits but not being enough to bridge the gap therefore resulting in higher unemployment as people quit their jobs to keep their assistance.

When I had my business going (2014 - 2020) I was paying people as much as $20/hr.
I still had problems with getting people to come to work and finding people who can do what they say they can do. Big corp's paid $12 - $15/hr for the same thing I was paying $20 for.
It's hard to compete with FREE, a.k.a. government handouts. I don't know that increasing the wage to $15/hr is going to inspire those who are legal citizens and work the system to rush out and get a job.

All those “agriculture workers” they are about to give amnesty to will be licking their chops for $15 an hour, and I presume quitting their agricultural jobs that are paying them $5 an hour under the table.

It will increase unemployment, restrict small businesses from expanding and move more to be reliant on govt assistance. Like student loan forgiveness, the people who really need the help already receive assistance.
