I’m in the market for a used bass boat and need some advice on boats. I’m looking for a 20’-21’ boat but also looking for a wide deck. I’m not sure where to even start at looking at makes of boats. I would like something that handles rough water well. Budget is $30,000-$38,000 and don’t want to go older than a 2010. Any advice, opinions, or makes to steer clear from?

I have a 2014 skeeter zx 200 for sale, listed in the boats for sale section.
Personal preference would be to get something with a four stroke. It would be tough to find a boat within that budget with the mercury four stroke and those lengths though.

I wouldn’t mind seeing what you have for sale if you want to send some pictures. Looking for a 225-250 though but have considered less.

You want a 225-250. Don't even consider less.

2 strokes are perfectly fine by the way.... ETEC, Optimax, or HPDi. I would make sure it's direct injection though which ever 2 stroke you run across

Agreed, nothing smaller than a 225 HP.

Nitro might be your best bet but I wouldn't get one older than a Z series. May be able to find a Legend 211 or 199 in that price range.

Thoughts on legends and ordering parts if needed since they don’t make them anymore? At least that’s what I’ve been told.

They're not making any new parts for them anymore.

Good to know. Love the look of the Legends but do not want to have to go chasing parts.

211 or 199 aren't going to have a really wide deck.

Not sure you’re interested but I have a fx21 with a 250sho.... 2014 model. Decked out. Pretty close to your range. Has less than 300hrs also

What parts would you need? Latches are latches and fiberglass repair and carpet don’t go back to Legend to have done anyways. Used boat he’s buying won’t have any warranty and there are a ton of aftermarket gauges and windshields that can be purchased.

Deck isn’t the widest but the ride is awesome.

Control pad, brain, handles on the gunnel, all the custom trim pieces for the console and bow would all be problems. On the other hand I've heard guys who bought 30+ year old Rangers and they still have all the electronic and trim pieces for order from factory.

11-13 Ranger Z521, 250 with a few hundred hours and relatively current electronics could probably be had at the top of your price range. If my budget was $38,000 I'd be looking in the $42k range and negotiate. GL! That's plenty of money to get a bad [censored] rig.
