If you have ever booked a guided trip, guides are flat out amazing. I spent a morning prefishing with Josh Sutton from Southern Wind Guide Service to learn a little more about how he manage to catch so much fish. Some of the key things that I learned will help me catch more fish!
1. Be prepared to fish multiple ways- we originally intended to deadstick but the wind was forecasted to die so we had bait as backup
2. Know where the fish have been biting- Josh had knowledge from recent trips, but we fished each of those spots to find the hottest fish.
3. Fish each spot for 10-15 min, then move on, the hottest spot is ultimately where he will bring the clients.
4. Try different types of structure and use your graph to find the most promising spots.
5. Adjust as the fishing conditions change.
6. If you are thumping with bait, it can take up to 10 minutes to get the fish in a feeding mood but it will happen
I hope you enjoy the video!
