The weather hasn't exactly been ideal with some Rain, Snow, Sleet and a lot of Wind over the first couple of weeks of the New Year, but we have managed to get on the Lake for a trip or two each week. Richland Chambers is at Full Pool after rising almost two feet and the Water Clarity is slightly stained with a Water Temp as of yesterday at 48 degrees. The Catfish bite has slowed a bit but we're still catching a mix of Blues and Channels on DK's Punch Bait in the timber on the Richland Creek Arm of the Lake. The bite has been less than aggressive and on the windy days difficult to detect. We've had several trips recently with Families and Kids and the Kiddos really struggle to get a good hook set on the soft biting fish. I tell folks that "Hook Sets are Free" so when in doubt "Set The Hook"! Every year in January and February, the fish seem to move more and some days we're catching them in 20' FOW or less and other days we move out to the Creek Channel and catch them in 30'-35' FOW. If it really gets tough, we move to using 5 Gallon bait buckets with Range Cubes to hold the fish in an area, but we haven't resorted to that at this time. This is the time of year our business slows but the fish are still biting. Pick a nice day, give us a call even if it's on short notice and We'll Go Catchin'! SMILES and Laughter is what it's all about! We've built our business on catching lots of fish (Whites, Catfish, etc.) and hopefully getting a really big one every once in a while! We cater to Kids & Families and try and make the trip about FUN as well as going home with a bunch of filets!
