How many people do you know that use a measuring cup to put the precise correct amount of milk in their morning cereal? I’ve never seen that before....have you?

Never heard of it unless they're on a diet of some kind which makes them measure all of their food.

I do know a couple of people like Jeff mentioned that watch their macros and count everything....they are either extremely overweight and trying to lose weight, or elite athletes....but usually they are just trying to make certain they get enough of everything to fuel their bodies properly.

I'm guessing your brother-in-law is neither of these and has severe OCD or had an obese family member and doesn't want to be like this.

Hide his measuring cup tonight and see how he reacts in the morning.

So much I would ask him why...but it is a waste of time.

Things like....why would you drive 29mph for ten miles in a 50mph zone.

Why go to bed at 8 PM, then get up at 4AM...turn the heat up to cook those sleeping upstairs.

Why take your salads with oceans of two kinds of salad dressing?

Why pour tons of sugar on spaghetti?

Why make sneezing sound like an elephant trumpeting?

Just the opposite here. BiL is the good one and my sister is the odd duck. We visited once and she was cooking spaghetti. She said she was making plain spaghetti. Who knew that meant without any sauce. When I asked where the sauce was, she got out a bottle of ketchup.

Make sure he sees you drinking out of the jug the next time he comes down for breakfast.
