I purchased a boat that has the Elite 7 and Elite 5 HDI, not sure of the build date but they seem to work as they should. I was thinking about going to the Elite Chirp, is there a big enough difference to upgrade to it?

Unless you are going to update to the Elite Ti2, FS or an HDS, if what you have is working, I would stay with it.
