I had the unexpected opportunity to help a good friend of mine take a family from the Wounded Worriors out on Texhoma Saturday. Thanks to Brad with Circle B Guide Service for letting me help out. It was truly a blessing for me. The morning started a little slow but as the clouds gave way to sunshine and warmed us up a little the fishing heated up as well. We started off drifting with dead sticks and some live baits down but only produced one fish on a dead stick. It was a nice over and was marking plenty like it, but they just weren't real aggressive. I spot locked on a group of fish at the tail end of a drift to see if they would eat the live bait that was stataniory and got a couple of good hits but no hookups. I made a short run to some chanel ledges and marked good fish and dropped baits. But they only produce a handful of fish in the box. The third move proved to be the best producer. Again was in close proximity to the river chanel but in a bit of an inside swing of a bend. I marked good fish and set up with live baits again on spot lock. Initially the screen cleared out but within about 5 minutes of turning on the thumper it was game on. The fish would come in waves with a few minutes of no action and then 3 or 4 hookups at a time. All came on 4 to 5 inch gizzards in approximately 50 FOW but fish caught from 30 to 35. We ended up putting to gather a really nice box of fish with all but 1 of their overs. It was a great time with a great family and I got my awesome brother in law Matt in on the action as well. He helped with the morning so we grabbed a little lunch and headed back out and he put some nice ones in the boat to cap off the day. I thank the lord for allowing me to share what I love with so many amazing people. I am truly blessed. I have dates available if you would like a pice of the action.
