Time to upgrade the trolling motor. I'm going to get one with the new spot lock feature. What brand do you guys suggest? After reading and watching lots of online reviews it seems like Ultrex is the proven unit, but the Garmin and Lowrance seem like they're pretty awesome. I REALLY wanted the motor guide tour pro but I'm tired of waiting. Thanks y'all!

Everybody has their favorites. A lot depends on what type of electronics you have or are going to have in the future. I have had my Garmin Force for almost two years now. As with most new things it had some bumps but I believe most if not all have been corrected. The best things I like are: It is sooooo quiet. It is very powerful. It is great on battery usage. (guessing about 70% better than my Fortrex was). I'm almost 70 and to stow and deploy this motor is so easy with the two struts. And the Anchor Mode (spot lock) works really good. The wireless foot pedal and remote work great.

Again everyone has their favorites so if possible, hitch a ride with someone that has each of the motors you are interested in. I'm in Ardmore, Ok. and would be willing to have you run mine.

The Tour Pro is shipping now, actually have one on the way. You have to look around and see who has them, I saw that Tackle Warehouse still has some in stock.
I was getting tired of waiting as well and was just about ready to pull the trigger on something else when they started to show up. Guess I'll find out if the wait was worth it or not.
