Haven't had any in a while but saw these today after reading the thread. Hot sauce, crackers, a pickle and Tilamook sharp cheddar. They were very good! My neighbor said that meal definitely produces an oily discharge.

Anyone try them from Portugal yet? I haven’t searched for them locally, but love sardines and that YouTube on the company is impressive.

Anyone try them from Portugal yet? I haven’t searched for them locally, but love sardines and that YouTube on the company is impressive. I have them on the way! They look wonderful. Amazon has a ten pack for like $65. I got that. Shipping takes 3 weeks though.

I like em, but the wife hates me to stink up her kitchen with them. For Christmas, my kids usually give me canned sardines as a joke gift. They think it’s funny and can’t imagine how I can eat sardines. Well, this year I guess they got confused, because they gave me some canned Anchovies. Not sure I want to eat them. Maybe if I mix them with sardines...
My Dad used to put sardines in a bowl and chop them up a bit, add chopped onions and lemon juice, mix it and eat them. Good stuff. Try it.
I was in Rotterdam or Amsterdam (I forget which) at a business meal, and I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken. The waiter looked at me funny and said they didn’t offer the chicken, but they did offer the salad with sardines. I ordered that. And I got a great salad topped with big cooked sardines. I guess they were about 3” long. Not bad, but I prefer the chicken. Put the anchovies in a small bowl and just barely cover them with balsamic vinegar, They are delicious! They're good in Caesar salad, too.

Tomato sauce for the win. Add fresh Pico de Gallo and eat with saltines. Some eat whole but I pull main bone out before mixing
