My aunt and uncle bought an RV about 3 years before he retired and moved into a local RV Park...it's not small by any means, it's over in Arlington and is quite large. When he retired in July, they moved to Jamaica Beach by Galveston and live in a RV park with a lazy river/water park type area...and they love it.

With chlorine maintained slightly above safety thresholds, lazy rivers can be an RV park game-changer.

I have no idea but I pass 2 or 3 of them on the way to the weekend place in east Texas. There's nothing there, just an RV park in a field and they're PACKED! I don't understand it.

15 acres just sold last year on 407 west of Justin. Guy turned it into RV park and now has 40+ campers. $400/month leaves him with and ROI of $16,000/month minus utilities and mortgage. He is expanding and can probably hold another 40 RV's. All he is doing is leveling the pad sites and adding crushed asphalt. I think he had to put in a septic system big enough to hold the number of RV's he plans on having.

Don't move into CCTX's neighborhood. That would be tantamount to pulling a doublewide onto his front lawn.

Damn trailer trash.

Haha! I get slapped on the wrist if I park my boat in my semi circular drive for more than 48Hrs.
One of my neighbors has a very nice motor home—he gets a pleasant letter within 48hrs also if he has it parked in front for maintenance.

When I lived in Flower Mound the HOA sent me a violation letter for my boat being in the driveway. I had moved it out for a few hours while cleaning the garage.

I sued my HOA 25 years ago, and won. I can do anything to my property now. ....and it’s the best looking home in the neighborhood.

Yes, there are certainly a lot of RVs because of construction and oil field workers. I also think that there are just some people that take $25-35 thousand, find an inexpensive RV park and kick back. Not taxes, no HOAs, no landscaping. If they get tired of the scenery, they move on down the line. We are considering getting one when we retire but we are still weighing the pros and cons.

Lots of them down here. When I traveled for work we all pulled RVs. Around work areas 200 was almost impossible and some were over 600 in the nicer places. I sure wouldnt mind opening one.

I'm in North Texas. COOKE COUNTY. They are going in everywhere here. Working on one by Ray roberts is going to be 125 spots. The reason here is our taxes keep going through the roof every year. And I've head that the county is putting more restrictions on being able to put one in because of the amount going in.

I'm a full timer and Escapee member. Would never own a home again.

If someone puts a container across the way, you can pick up and move.

If I want to home office from a state park for two weeks it's possible.

Several of these parks have popped up for workers on the pipelines. Not sure what Sleepy Joe will do with that but I have an idea. One park I saw on Interstate 20 yesterday has never had more than. few RVs in it before but all the spots appeared taken when I came by near Thurber.

We are doing a ton of concrete work for a huge RV dealership, they are putting them all over the place, they cannot sell RV's fast enough. I was told the huge spike in sales are coming from the Baby Boomers, they are all retiring and cashing in their 401's, don't want to be tied down.

My grandson works for an engineering firm that does a lot of the permitting for new R V parks all over the state. He told me last night that they were super busy with this type of work and the amount of people living fulltime in RV`s was skyrocketing. Probably going to only get worse with all of the people moving to Texas and the rapid price increase of homes, land and taxes that go along with that.

I will be one in the next couple of years. my wife has pancreatic cancer so she will not live a long life. The big house and new cars were always for her. At 71 I sleep in the back of my Tundra when elk hunting so no big deal to me. I have a park close to our best lake that is $192 a month. The newer fifth wheels with slideouts are nice and plenty of room for an old man. My happiness comes from fishing, hunting and solitude. I will live in Arizona for 6 months and right on the Nehalem river with an Alumaweld sled for 6 months near my Oregon fishing buddies. That one is $450 a month including water and electricity and they have an awesome boat dock. To each his own.

The "cannot sell them fast enough" is more like "can't build them fast enough." One of the things being said about this is that you really have to be careful with what you pick out. They are building them fast and CHEAP! They are also builder them lighter so every SUV in America can pull one. Lighter means less less strength. JMO.
