I went over to Lake Granbury for sunset last night and fished for an hour. Fishing was pretty slow. I only landed one bluegill and a carp. The carp was only 27” but it was a butterball roflmao. It wrapped me around a pipe then pulled me all over the lake. It hit a white carp slayer fly. The bluegill hit a smaller brown carp slayer.

Jon boats are fun. I have caught lots of fish from them. It has been a really nice boat to fish with my wife or friends. Oh and here is a real fatty roflmao

Thanks for the reply. The fly I caught the fish on floats, but I also have a sinking version and several different sizes. The Jon boat is a 14 foot.

That kind of looks like LHD's "Carp Candy" fly, just a different color.

It amazes me how many people have come to the same conclusion that this shape of fly is the best for carp. I have seen may flies with different name that look exactly like my carp slayer fly. There are pink ones, green ones, white ones, blue ones and even multi-colored ones imitating bullies. The round shape is very effective. The color variation depends on where you are and what the fish are eating.

Osborn fishing...My hooks should be in the mail today. What material are you using for the main body of your fly?
Thanks in advance.

Pronghorn hair and elk hair for the floaters and slow sinkers. Moose or deer for the fast sinkers. Pronghorn is my favorite. White fallow deer works good in areas were there are cottonwood trees or people are feeding bread.
