Hard to believe what a northern cold front can do shutting down the winter bite that wasn't really bad to begin with. It started out at 49 degrees this morning and instead of getting warmer it got colder. The winds started 5-10 out of the sw and turned around to about 20-30 out of the north. A tough ride back with a spun prop.
All fish 10" and up are keepers. Only the best 5 count.
Boaters
First Place went to Galen Smith of Alba with 2 bass for 5.50 LB. with the 3.90 LB boater lunker .
Second Place went to Tim Gold of Mineola with 1 bass for 3.64 LB.
Third Place went to Randy Bunch of Lake Fork 1 bass for 2.36 LB. l
Fourth Place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 2 bass for 1.80 LB
Fifth Place went to Charlie Abresch of Hawkins with 1 bass for 1.04 LB
Co-Anglers
First Place went to John Berech of Garland with 1 bass for 5.80 which is the co-angler lunker caught on a crank bait.
Second Place went to Gary Gilmore of Ennis with 2 bass for 3.22 LB with a 2.18 LB lunker..
Third Place went to Ken Kielbas of Arlington with 2 bass for 2.90 LB. with the lunker of 1.20 LB.
Fourth Place went to Jackie Price of Alba with 1 bass for 1.12 LB.
We caught 14 keepers today with 12 anglers skunking. Boy does that suck. That is the worse results since when we started and only had 4 boats fishing
The LFA fishes every Thursday except T-Day and Christmas on 2 different formats. A 5 fish limit we call LFA and a MLF style format where every fish counts we call Hard Core, 3 special tournaments and an end of year dinner. We are a club of 53+ seniors (Mostly) and are very liberal on members being for off vacations and medical issues. Even though we are practicing social distancing and wearing masks, we have about 20 out hiding from Covid exposure,
Right now we are looking for more co-anglers. Bring your face mask, tackle and life vest and get to go out on Lake Fork for far less than you'd pay for a guide.
