Yes looking for bass 1-2 pounds. They don't offer that size at a resonable rate. Looking to help someone that has a over stocked pond .

If you were closer we could probably work something out. Being 4 1/2 hours away I think it would be hard to keep them alive.

Yep that is a haul. I have hauled them 2 hours no problem. I use spring water to haul them is a aerated tank moved 42 one time and only lost 1 on a 2 hour haul and he died 3-4 days later.

Generally it is not a good idea to buy overstocked pond bass from a pond you are not familiar with and transfer to another pond. There are many reasons not to do this, but the main 2 reasons.

1) Adult Bass that are several years old, that have grown up in the same environment (the pond they were born in) their entire life usually do not thrive in a completely new environment. There will be a few that do OK. However, most will sustain (not grow or grow at much slower rates) or in many cases actually go down hill.

2) Adult bass that were overcrowded in a pond are generally stunted. The 10-14" bass you are moving can be 5 years old or even older. You have no idea how old this fish is. Yes, a 14" bass can be 5 years old or even older. If it managed to survive in a rugged environment and never had the environement (forage, habitat, water quality to thrive) to thrive it just grew slow or or virtually stopped growing. So, even if the environment that you are moving the fish to is incredible, you could be moving an older fish, that has lost much of his life span. The "average" life span of a bass is about 10-11 years old. Do you want to move a fish that has lived half or even more of her life and is still only 14"? That fish will NEVER reach his potential.

If you decide you still think you want to do this, buy from a source in which these small bass are young fish, not from stunted farm pond. I would recommend you buy andvanced fingerlings (8-10") from a reputable hatchery. The retail cost is $8-$15 per fish and you know what you are buying.

Yep I have to start somewhere and I was working with a hatchery mid summer but could not get the larger fry. Bought 1.5 inch.

We have fish in Fork that are 16 inches and 6.5 years old so I see this already on my home lake. Although TPW do move fish from lake to lake sometimes. I have seen them move 200 at a time.

Just need anything that has a chance. Fry / fingerlings have a very low survival rate. Not trying to grow big ones just plenty to catch.

The 8-10" fish are available in the Fall. These are the fish that were spawned in March/April and now have reached this size. Try American Sport Fish in Alabama they often have them. They bring trucks to Texas often. Overton Fisheries in Buffalo Tx may have them from time to time. Both places may have a few left from the fall that they would love to sell.

I'm a little too far for you but I'm going to have to thin my pond out some this year. Why don't you just take some unders out of Lake Fork for your pond?

Lake Fork needs all the help it can get. IMO To much pressure and to many tournaments here. IMO

Yes I think the tournaments are hard on all the lakes. I wish they'd make them all catch, weigh and release without ever going in the livewell.
