I had 6 dinkers Friday night before the gf wanted to leave with the lightning approaching. It was my first time to see crappie come up and bust in the light ...pretty cool. I had moved to one spot that I thought would be productive and when I spun back on it and shined the spotlight I saw a 12 incher cruising the surface and got excited. An hour later we had only caught two 8 inchers...lol. Nice catch robles!

Radtexan, more boat problems? Man, I hate to hear that. Are you taking it to a boat dealer in Lubbock for service? I know a retired guy in Slaton who I am told was an excellent mechanic. I know he worked on my partner's boat motor earlier this year and is seems he fixed a problem that had been a plague for 2 years.

Sounds like Robles found the place! Were you in a boat or on the crappie house? Reason I'm asking, I hope to get down Friday night.

Fergy, I was fishing off a boat. I can't take credit for finding the fish myself, a friend from work told me about the area to fish. I would hate to give up the spot since they probably wouldnt be to happy about it. All i can say is you can see the bridge from it. Hint Hint. I hope you fellows find them, it sure was nice to feel the thump. They came off minnows and jigs. Hope to see ya there this weekend.

Dang, Robles!! How can you expect a fella to do any good when you hold back like that!! Thanks for the info. I don't know for sure where we will go or when we will get down. I may have to work until 5:00. Were they favoring any particular color or style of jig??? Last time I got into them with jigs, they were favoring a red/chartreuse soft body.

My partner & I hit it about 8:00 Friday night. Lots of 7-9" fish. We did catch 7 keepers before we left about 2:00 Saturday morning. I caught either the biggest or second biggest crappie of my life. 16 1/2" and his body had to be 6" across. I could see him in the light while I'm screaming for the net. Thank God for a partner who will jump in there when you need him. What a glorious night on the lake. Enough moonlight to see all the way to the top of the canyon and not a ripple on the water most of the night. Do be careful on that road leaving. We almost added a whitetail doe hood ornament to my Chevy.
