Before the very first Megabass events I fished, we stopped at LFT. Mark talked with us for a bit and then told us exactly what to fish with and where to fish. He suggested one spot to go to first.
On that first spot, within a couple casts, I caught an 8lbr that was just short of 24”. And then we continued to catch bass after bass after bass.
All of them were slot fish but I have never forgotten that morning and the advice Mark gave. We had never hired him as a guide and he had never met us before.....gave us great information and it worked!!!!

I still have this pic he took one day when we were fishing together. Swapping some drop shot tips for jig fishing tips. Was looking back at past things trying to find pics of a weekend Me, Fouzman, Billy and Kay Dyson, Lance Vick, and Mark all swapped around fishing with each other. One of the most fun times Ive had on that lake. The last 2 years Ive lost 2 good friends and great ones on that lake. Billy Dyson, and now Mark Pack. Both taught me alot and I dont think anyone can ever live up to those 2 on the knowledge they had and shared. Going to be weird walking in Tiffany's and not seeing him in there.

I’ve always had a lot of respect for Kelly Jordan and have enjoyed watching his career. But to hear him speak and hold it together allowed for a very touching tribute to Mark. I’m just in awe of the things he talked about and how eloquent he was.

Any word on the services yet? Talked to his brother today and he told me that they were probably gonna wait a couple months and have some type of memorial service at lake fork marina! Probably will depend on COVID!

RIP Mark and Condolences to the Pack family-such a terrible loss. I met Mark through a writer for BASS named Tim Tucker. Tim knew I was moving to Texas from Florida and set us up. We fished Fork a few times back in the mid 90's. I thought it was very kind of him to take someone he never met out fishing when he had a business to run but I found out later that was Mark. He will be truly missed. Take care Packman-Hope you and Tim get a lot of HUGE Topwater bites up there with the man upstairs!

I emailed him one time with some jig questions, not expecting much to come of it. But not only did he email me back. We eventually ended up talking on the phone about my questions. He didn't have to do that. And now, all these years later, it's killing me that I never did go fish that summer bite with him. That was a bucket list for me. RIP and prayers for those left behind.

He was always generous with us and donated half day trips for Fish For A Cure. I actually won one of them but we could never get our schedules synced up Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
