Was listening Joe Rogan and heard him talking about how much he loved canned sardines .

My Dad used to eat those things like candy but I never tried them, not in my life.

Bought 5 tins of varied flavors and brands. First can was gross. But the more I eat them, the more I like them.

They still look vile, but they taste not bad. I like the ones in hot sauce and in water best. Not such much in oil. Did not like those. But better with Hot Sauce.

Any tips on how to enjoy these tasty little fish?

Do you like Sardines in the tin?

Life is too short to spend time making stink fish taste better.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Agreed. Sardines are bait for the fish I like to eat.

I don’t understand JRs popularity. Not very insightful, average personality, and sort of an average interviewer and comedian. He does work hard and has good guests every now and then.

Canned Tuna fish>>>canned sardines.

^^^^this .

Sardines the same .

You can also try adding small pieces of sardines during the last few minutes of cooking a pizza . Sort of a low sodium alternative to anchovies .

Chicken of the sea brand smoked sardines are very good. Trouble is, they are hard to find. Brookshires is the only place here that sells them. Do not know about the DFW area though

Joe Rogan's shows are very hit and miss. Depends on the guest. Some of them you could not pay me to listen to, just boring and not fun or funny. BUT some of them are totally riveting...entertaining and educational. I like the historians he has on, and some of the medical folks who talk about health and working out and stuff. He talks about bigfoot and UFO stuff sometimes too, I like that.

I just got some of those from Kroger here in DFW. I got a few of every brand they had to try.

Its a cheap way to get some healthy proteins and Omega-3. Of course totally portable, toss a few cans in your bag and you got a snack on the go.

Going to try what Ratz suggested, the oysters.

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

When I was growing up and my folks were still married , my mom bought TONS of canned sardines --- we lived close enough to Monterey Bay and those cans of sardines were dirt cheap and a great way to get protein . I loved them , ate them like candy . Today , just the thought of eating them makes me gag .

I like the ones in oil with some Pace medium salsa. Have some Club crackers and cheddar cheese and you have a meal.

Same with smoked oysters.
