Looking for someone to check out my boat and determine the electrical. I am not getting my trolling motor to run with 24 volts.

I am clueless about electrical and need some help with identifying all the cables on a 1999 Ranger. Know someone in the DFW area , prefer the Ellis County area.

First of all do you have a jumper on batteries from the negative post on one to positive on the other?

My 96 Ranger had the wiring schematic on the under side of the lid for the battery compartment. If I remember right Ranger wired some of their boat with both wiring set ups for 24 or 36 volt trolling motors, or mine was anyway.

You are talking with a man that failed 8th grade algebra. LOL I will let an expert or semi-expert do it.

I had same problem (with both algebra and boat wiring) and Stumpjumper's recommendation fixed my problem. I switched out batteries and neglected to connect the two via -/+.

Let's start simple, then we can progress from there.

How many batteries do you have?

Can you identify the battery used to crank the big engine?

fish finder is easy to fix. run new power wires all the way to the battery. bypass/remove all the splice in connectors, etc. they should be going to a buss bar or
straight to the battery anyway.
