29 degrees to start out this morning. Surprised to find bait in the marina. Some good sized ones too. Got out before light. I was soaking baits at 6:40. went deep. wind was up, despite what the weatherman called for. That was a good thing. I boated a 23, a 25 and a 30 between 8:00 and 10:00 am. Headed in after that. Needed a hot cup of coffee... Thank you Lord for another good day on the water.

Thanks El Gato! So for starters the temperature. I figure if the air is colder than the surface temp of the water, the fish will go deep. If the air is warmer, the surface temp will come up and draw the fish shallower. Plus, I did a little scouting and I was marking a good number of fish on the bottom and I figured they were cats so I threw some baits at 'em and they were hungry. Good strong bites too. No nibbles...
