Ive never tried zipties. I think it would be safer to hook the hook under your reel and remove weight till your next fishing trip. Just my 2cents

I have always put my hook in a loop made on pole or hook it around handle around the reel and twist my line around my pole until tight.
Works most time no guarantees some times I have just a big wad of tangled fishing poles .

I hook the jig on the reel and wrap the line around rod eyes a few times keeps em from getting tangled up.

Twist the line around the rod and just wrap the weight around the rod. Never gets tangles.

I'd suggest you zip tie the barb end of that hook so it won't be a hazard..... The rare times I tandem rig I usually just cut the jigs off so I don't have to deal with a tangled mess.....
