Anyone have brand recommendations for any of those small metal fire pits?
DW saw one, campers several sites away from us, and now we've GOT to have one too. Unfortunately they moved out the next day so neither of us had the opportunity to wander down and ask about it.

Maybe one of those small round grills that are low to the ground?

My neighbor has a SOLO stove and it is pretty cool. It has a secondary burn and is almost smokeless once it gets hot.

don't know how small smallish is to you, but i use one of these for camping. cook meals during the day, fire pit at night. just lay a cut to fit expanded metal grate on top of the existing charcoal grate. cheap, effective and a clamp on lid, just checked, mine is an 18 inch just like this one

just go get one of your neighbors metal trash can lids and use it till it rusts thru, then go get another.

For real ! The actual trash can with a couple vent holes in it works awesome .
A hole dug in the ground works good .
A tractor disc with some legs.
Bottom of a propane tank .
Couple pieces of scrap metal and some expanded metal and your golden

You can probably use a couple of options.

- Weld one out of plate (Square shaped)

- Cut the tank head(cap) out of a smaller old propane tank ( open and flush with water before cutting)

- Buy a tank head new from a supplier and weld feet on it for ground clearance. These folks are in N. Tx Tank heads A 20" - 24" ought to work awesome. There's plenty of other suppliers . . . even as far away as Wuhan, China.
