Watch the shows on TV and saw something about needing marshalls. I know there is an event coming to Travis in April/May. Anyone have any experience with this? Seems like it would be a great learning experience sitting in a boat with a pro for several days. Would stink watching and not fishing all that time though. About to start looking up the details. Thanks in advance.

I think you are thinking about BASS, MLF doesn't do marshalls they do officials and they train them on the weigh scale use.

MLF is calling them marshals on their website. https://majorleaguefishing.com/marshals/

There is a big difference between marshalling and officiating. Marshalls pay to ride in the boats. Officials go to a 3 day training in Tulsa. They cover alot of different things.Way more to it than meets the eye.

Others may want to be a marshall or an official. Go for it! You might even learn a lot. I personally would never volunteer to sit in a boat for 8 hours, watching someone fish, without being able to fish myself. Couldnt do it. Nope. Sorry for going off topic.
