Geez Louise! The women folk in my home are watching Dr. Pol. Evidently, a cat can contract herpes. Never heard of such a thing. Never had it happen with any pet, period. I’m thinking it’s a city folk thing. Fess up, you have a pet with herpes? scared bolt

I did not know that. I learned they could catch feline HIV (FIV) when I got my dog back in 2001. I took her to a vet office and they had a poster on the wall about it. Who'd have thought?

Ummm......I really hope this isn't a human to cat transmission issue.

There is a strain of herpes in monkeys that is fatal to humans in almost every case, and get you minds out of the gutter.

Yes, cats have their own herpes - it's not contagious to humans. The main symptom is excessively watery eyes. Not particularly harmful to adult cats, but can be fatal to young kittens.

If you’re using the word cat as a replacement word, yes. Caveat emptor.
