Went to Kimble bend on Sunday and caught 4 or 5 small striper early in the deeper holes above the bridge. I know this is the crappie page but I just can't resist catching those guys when the birds are pointing them out!! LOL. I caught several crappie but only 2 worth keeping. Fished the submerged timber in the deeper holes above and below the bridge.
Yesterday I went back but put in at Cedar creek and went up past White Bluff fishing the submerged timber along the main river channel in 25 to 35 foot of water. Morning was cold and slow but around 11 caught my first and between 11 and 1:30 it was much better. Fish were scattered for the most part and suspended from about 18 to 25 feet down but I did manage to get 4 or 5 off of one tree. Only caught 3 dinks and of the 15 I brought home the smallest was 1.21 to 1.64. ( good day for me) The largest 7 weighed 9.45.
I caught all my fish with my knew Kevin Rodgers 11' series rod and small spinning reel. Thanks to Slewfoot for letting me test them out!!! I caught all my fish with Bonehead 1/4 ounce pink jigs and silver flake 3" plastic until I finally got hung up and broke it off.
