It’s a rock pinnacle that’s standing just off a point in a major channel with a school of fish 80+ft. The day before that picture was taken a school of fish was sitting on top in 60ft.

Haha thanks.. The 10.4 I caught a few days ago was the nice one. ‘Twas fun.. 30mph North winds today didn’t allow for a nice one. We were on lock down. We caught fish but tossed in the towel about 1 🎣

Always enjoy reading your reports! Awesome 10+!! Never been to Amistad but now that I'm semi-retired I'll have to make my way down. Couple of questions for you. 1) What % of your time is spent on the US side vs. Mexican? 2) How would you compare it to Falcon? I've been to Falcon twice but Amistad is about an hour closer to me. Last, how easy/hard is it to navigate around Amistad? Thanks

Last, how easy/hard is it to navigate around Amistad? Thanks Thanks for the kind words.. 1) Probably 50/50. Im all over the lake from Mx to the Devils River. 1/3rd of the lake is Mexico and it has the majority of the grass plus large deep creeks. Devils is the clearest, not much grass, and fishes a lot different than the rest of the lake but is often a fun day catching largemouth, smallmouth, whites, and stripers. Past couple weeks I’ve been on the Devils more so than in Mx but that will likely change soon. 2) I just returned from Falcon today. Fished couple days and it was considered slow but we caught fish up to 6lbs. Compared to Amistad it’s complete opposite other than it’s the same water flow along the Rio Grande. Amistad is clear, lots of hydrila, and had deep canyons. Falcon is stained to muddy, no grass, lots of wood, and mostly shallow. My opinion Amistad is easier to navigate especially if your graph has a map.. Both lakes are low right now. Amistad has some unmarked humps to watch for mostly mid lake. Falcon is currently 38ft low and has a lot of wood to watch for. The Mexican nets are heavy along the border line between markers. Not many nets in Amistad. Amistad ramps are in good shape other than Black brush. It’s closed. Falcon county ramp is good. At the State Park near the dam they are launching off the point. Ramp is dry. Both lakes will be on fire soon. We are blessed to fish in Texas!

^^^^^^ great info! Falcon and Amistad are opposites. I grew up on Amistad and it’s such a beautiful place. Hopefully the fishing continues to improve!
