I need a shed big enough to hold my lawn tools, mower and engine hoist. Is it cheaper to build one, or buy a kit.

Pic is what im working with. And my horse.

Incorporate a slab for that pellet pooper in your build.

I need to do something. I have a drainage issue too.

I'd put it up against that fence to block your neighbors view into your backyard.

kits are cheap for a reason, built on site can be 16" oc like it is supposed to be, kits will be 24" and osb.

build it and use real 1/2" plywood, not osb, 16" oc for studs and shed roof it (single pitch) for ease.

Build it yourself. Home Depot or Lowes sells Versa Tube kits in all sizes. I built one 20x 30 for less than 11k and that included slab that I did myself. You probably don't need one that big. But they make em smaller.

Figure out what size you thank you need, then double it.

My son-in-law spent the last several days building an office and bathroom in his shed. He calls it a shop. Think he gets offended when I call it a shed. If the square footage is close to that of your 4 BR house is it a shop?

For you, it's probably cheaper to build it...so you get what you want. Is there an HOA for where you live? If so, you probably have to ask them.

Great looking pooch.

Yep, take a good long look at your HOA docs. Most likely they won't let you build one at all if it can be seen over the fence, and they might have placement restrictions (can't be within X feet of adjacent property, etc). Might have to upgrade to an 8-foot fence before you even get to the shed.

You made a mistake moving to the suburbs. The suburban life is hell.
