I fish Lake Whitney a lot. Always hear "Point 8", "Point 6" and so on. Never saw any marked on my maps. I do know where "Point 8" is. But curios, if these are marked on any maps. Or, just plain local knowledge?

From what I was told is they were signs that indicated the mile marker from the dam.as the river flows not as the crow flys.

Well, that doesnt work out. By navionics, Point 8 is 14 miles of river from the dam.

The point on cedar creek park next to Juniper cove. That what I thought was Point 8?

That’s correct,not sure about the exact miles. Was just told that by a couple guys that fished the lake their whole lives.

Got blown off the dang lake this morning! Lol. We are campin at McCowen for the week. Birds are workin! Cant wait for the wind to ease up a little!

Point 8 is 8 miles from the dam, as the crow flies. Maybe thats how they are named?

They are just names of points to me, don’t care how or why.

I know point "9" is just north of Katy bridge at Katy island
