Fished Fayette today from 8:30 til 4:00 with nephew Andy. Really slow day overall...we got 15 bass & 1 small bluegill. No big bass today, but a few good fat fighters. Water temp was mid 60s in most areas...Water level was down another foot....I would say around 3 feet low now. Lake was packed today...saw Tomrom at the launch but never ran into him again...I am sure he was on one of his super secret spots jut ripping lips right & left. Also never ran into Alan, but am curious to hear how everyone did. The guys we talked to at the ramp did about like us. Was hoping for a real good day with the excellent weather conditions, but some days are just like that... [Linked Image]

Nice fish Steve. I knew you would come thru with some bass.

I got out there about 8 and by 1:30 I had had enough of that wind. I only boated 4 fish. One was decent but the others small. Spent a lot of time just looking around. Never really found bait that looked like it had big fish with it. The fish I caught were on finesse plastics.

From the way everyone was running around I didn't really feel like anyone was on fish real good.

Did you catch all your fish in the trees?

I kept my eye out for you and Tom but never saw you guys.

Take care,

Alan

Alan...I have a feeling "someone" did good today...probably one of those guys fishing "offshore". Yes...we caught our best fish in the timber, plus we caught some real small ones at the discharge, and a few at the intake area. Seemed like everywhere I wanted to go there was 2-3 boats already there. Looking forward to after the new year when most folks have to go back to work...

Steve/Alan we boated over 20. Fishing was slower than I thought it would be. Boated several big fish with the biggest one caught on a football jig. It was crowded today for sure. My friend that I have only talked to in the last 6 months that joined me wanted to get off the water by 3 so I left then. Fishing was better for us in the morning. Wind made it tough to fish the timber. Spot Lock really helped. Found some more areas that had old Blue Gill beds which Im definitely going to try this spring.

Side Note: Nice fish. thumb Looks like these latest fronts have taken their toll on the sunnies. The Fayette winter Bluegill/Redear mode has started! hide2

A "slow" day of 15 to 20 fish would be a great day for me. Well done guys.

Thanks Chuck, Curtis & Yesenia for the replies...

Curt...I guess I should have said slow day compared to last week. Any day out on the water is a good day !

Tom...What do you think your biggest fish weighed ? How did you do on your 1st stop... at the super secret spot ?

Over 6 on the cheap scale I have. The super secret spot haha is where the biggest fish came from and the most. Probably would have caught more there if it weren't for the other boats fishing it as well. I guess they did not get the message that was my secret spot on the lake.
