I went to Matagorda one more time as a last trip for 2020, but I didn't catch anything by withings. There were two factors for not catching any reds, blackdrums or sheepsheads.
I had a friend of mine that joined me, but he drove his Toyota Camry, so we were limited to fish the entrance area. The second thing is that there was no incoming tide until late evening, but I had to come back to Austin. So, didn't camp out. The whole day was a slow low tide. I casted pretty far and nothing but withings anywhere I casted. I had like 30+ withings. Kept some, used some for bait (nothing hit them), and threw some back in the water.

Still, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work lol, but hopefully 2021 will be better, but just wanted to share this.

Thanks for the report. Coast is great this time of year if you can catch the right weather. Sounds like you did.

A bad day makes the good days so much better! At least you had a nice trip!

You CAN catch them all the time. If you have a bunch of local guys feeding you the best information available!
