Stripers, try deadsticking them. When deadsticking don't spot lock on em. Keep moving very slow at about .5 mph. . In that depth of water the more active fish are gonna be suspended a good bit off the bottom. If I mark fish in that depth of water on or near the bottom I will usually move on. Your first pic is more like what you want to see, drop down to the fish that are above the 50' mark, those fish are the most active. I would concentrate more on the the 40' and above

At least I know they are stripers now. Began to think I was fishing for baitfish or something. Lol. Has one rod out with a 5” storm wild eye swim bait on it in the rod holder, the other one I was casting out and letting sink down a ways with a 4” on it in chartreuse. Spent 30 minutes and finally moved on. Drive back over on the way out and was still like that. Didn’t catch many today, all we’re about 15” and caught on a chartreuse swim bait. Have some slik baits coming. Thanks 44 diesel!

I fish Belton which is 50 miles south of you and the lake here was calm almost all day. When there is no wind, the fish become inactive and I have not figured a way to get them stirred up. After several unsuccessful trips I have chosen to stay home and wait for a better day with at least a little wind. I am curious if you used a thumper on these fish to get them to bite?

Drifting with tandem flukes is very productive. We catch a lot of fish with one ounce jig head tied first and then at least a three foot tag line and attach a half ounce jig head with a smaller fluke, preferably a 4 inch white ice dipped with chartreuse garlic dip, tail only. The smaller fluke and accompanying jig will catch more fish than the larger one ounce placed above. And when a bigger fish as in 8 to 10 lbs gets on the. half ounce, hook will straighten out or line will snap etc. However, you will get a lot more strikes and learn the dead stick feel and or other ambiances of said technique !

If the heavier jig and larger fluke are catching more fish , remove the smaller jig and either fish with the larger jig or tie on two large jigs i.e.. two 3/4 ounce jigs in tandem. Establish a pattern and either repeat over same trail or replicate on another area .

decided to check and see if i could find any stripers in the main lake today and found them in most areas I checked. I didn't have a big numbers day as I was moving around and checking areas but the bite seemed to fizzle out late morning, still caught fish in the afternoon but the bite was not near as good. A lot of small fish but if you stay with them there are bigger fish mixed in. Most fish were caught on slab/jig combo and a few dead sticking. Find the main river channel and you will find the fish. They seemed to be stacked more along the edge of the channel as they seem to scatter a bit over the main channel but they are all over and fairly easy to find. Still a [censored] ton of fish in the lake. These screen shots were the last area I fished but was pretty common for most areas along the river channel

Yes . On those days when all we can find is bait on the fish finder it is impressive .
