Helping delivery drivers that worked for my Dad's meat company. I would ride with them on their routes and help make the deliveries. I was 11 and weighed 75 lbs.
some of the packages weighed 40-50 lbs.

My first job with a real printed paycheck was The Hunt County Shopper. The newspaper was ads mainly and went out each Wednesday. Awful job because they required all papers on the porch and it seemed to rain every Wednesday

Ticket Booth and snack bar at Chalk Hill Drive In theatre. Man I had forgotten about Chalk Hill drive in- Went there a few times for sure- We lived in red oak from the mid sixties until a couple of years ago, the Astro drive in was our “go to” drive-in.

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Helping my uncle farm, 35 cent/hr., then big money 50 cents a bale pitching back cotton in stripper trailer. How many strippers were you able to carry on a trailer? That’s an awesome job. Varied, some trailers were a lot bigger than others. They got heavy after a while, but the bouncing and jiggling around made it nice.
