No. I just set the spool up where it won't fall over and spool my line on.

NEVER for a spinning reel. Line twist out the wazoo. The only way to load a spinning reel is to remove the spool and use a dedicated line machine.

I had a cheapo. Broke it the other day spooling line while it was really cold outside.

I think I fish enough that I should have a commercial grade line spooling machine. Who makes a really good one?

Just make your own, I made one for every size line that I use

When not in the dog house; my better half will hold a pencil through the spool.
However, 99% of the time spool on windshield between base of wipers and hood.

steez, I made mine with one of these, mounted to a block of 4x4 about 6" with the hole to the back of one end. I carry it on the boat.

bass pro has them for 8.00, take off the suction cup and epoxy in block, you could do an aluminum base since I bet you have access to a welder

I use a square ice bucket from a motel. Perfect size for a bulk spool to sit in.

If you want your spinning reels to be without line twist, you have to remove the spool and use a dedicated line machine (or something that works the same). I have seen homemade contraptions that can and will get the job done, but if you change line a lot a commercial machine makes sense and causes far less frustration on the water when your line twists and snarls in the rod guides.

I use this one and am very pleased......
