Bethel is a NAIA school and has the ability to offer partial scholarships. It is extremely rare that you see full rides at this level. With that being said if he feels that this is his passion in life and is what he wants to do we should not be able to tell him he should be doing something else. He competed, qualified and earned his right to go pro if he chooses. If pro fishing does not work out and he develops the right relationships he will open doors that he would have never been able to while attending college. I am not saying that going to college is the wrong path, but experience and the right relationships will take you a very long way in my opinion.

College is still an option if fishing doesn't work out for him...
I think the decision to pursue a career in bass fishing would only become harder and more intimidating with age and higher levels of responsibility. I assume he still lives at home, no wife, no kids, and already has a pretty solid foot in the door that can offer guidance. If I were him, I'd give it all I had and see if I had what it took to be successful. If I didn't, get a degree and leverage relationships built while fishing to land a solid job in the industry.
Hope he goes far.

His life and decision. Yes he could go to college and rack up $150k in debt with a buisness degree and then struggle to find a job. College is not the answer to every question. IMO technical schools are a way better decision these days and it actually teaches the students something they can use for a lot less debt. Also they do not get brainwashed with all the liberal professors garbage. Two Hibdons won classics, that's pretty good. He comes from a fishing family. He will be fine and enjoy his life more than an office job.

If it’s what he wants to do go for it. The Lane family can give him plenty of guidance on both the fishing and business end. Plus making connections in the industry.

I feel like the people that always throw out “he could go rack up 150k in student loan debt” probably didn’t go to college.
