If I created a baited hole using a 5 gallon bucket:
- What's the best thing to put in the bucket for bait: Range Cubes?
- Using the bait you suggest, how often do you need to pull that bucket up to rebait?
The bucket would be submerged under water, I'm guessing at least 4-5ft under the surface.

I put about twenty 1/4" holes in the top, bottom and sides of a 5 Gallon Bucket and use Range Cubes. They will dissolve in 3 to 4 days and need replenishing. If you put a brick or rock in the bucket, it will go down quicker and won't float to the surface.

Thank you
Have you found anything for the bucket that will last a little longer?

Bass Pro has chum bags for cheap. I have filled with cubes and hung under the boat when fishing straight down in deep holes. Wave action helps with the decomposing. If you want to put them on the bottom just tie a rock on the bag. I used to hear stories about guys dropping deer carcasses down and placing a permanent concrete anchor (bucket) nearby with a soda bottle on top of the rope.

I prefer scattering soured maize on arrival. If you are fishing structure, home of the catfish, they will be around and come quickly.
Funny story, while fishing one of my favorite spots I often hung on something that seemed to be horizontal and if I jiggled and popped my weight around I could free my hook. One day I could not get free from this object and had some stout line on and I pulled up someone's chum bucket from the bottom,. It was the bucket handle I was often hanging on.

Burlap sack and range cubes, when I go back to each hole I throw out a couple scoops of soured grain
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.
