Can you really be a bass pro in 2020 without having an active YouTube page?

I was fortunate to be one of the first pros on Tour with the new Lowrance Active Target module. Instead of another "Watch me reel in this crappie while I tell you about seeing it on my graph" videos, I put together some on the water screen recordings from my second day on the water trying to learn this new technology. I filmed this the other day while on a guide trip at Sam Rayburn snatching bass on some offshore structure.

Before you ask, "Is it better than the competitor's forward shooting sonar?" I can honestly tell you I have only been in the boat with the other product one time in my life therefore I can't answer that. I'm sure it is going to be nitpicked to death in comparison going forward though. All I can do is share and educate. If you enjoyed this video, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and be patient, I hope to have a lot more content in the near future.

It looks frustrating to see all those targets down there, and what seems like interest in the bait, without bites. It does look like an excellent tool to help zero down the bait, color, and presentation to get a reaction.

I can’t wait for mine. Thanks for the video.

you will be amazed how many times a fish will look at your bait and then turn away, bass or crappie

I was in a boat pre-fishing for a tournament a couple weeks back and there was Garmin's version, Think it's called "Live sight" on the boat...Not sure on the name there but SteezMacQueen is kind of right...We were throwing A-rigs and could literally see fish following our bait in but not eating it. Started making us doubt everything we were doing haha. Eventually we started vertical spooning and these units are amazing watching the bait balls and fish going through the ball eating them. We were literally watching our spoons go through the bait and could watch our bass be pulled up when we caught them. We caught about 15 bass in 20 minutes doing this. Was super fun but no way am I spending 4 grand on one of those units but I probably would if I could afford it haha.

You think you have a pile of lures on the floor now, I cant imagine how many baits I would go thru looking at fish like that. I'm not one to give up easily when I can see them there and they are eating bait and moving around.

It is incredible, I was crappie fishing timber last year on my first trip with it, fishing 25' FOW, crappie were holding at 15', and we were catching them, bite slowed down and I saw a big fish move in at the bottom of the tree so I dropped to the bottom and bam! Caught a 5lb catfish. It's amazing to go dock fishing with.
