Looked up the stocking history, and it’s okay. I can’t find a lot of info on striper fishing. Does anyone have any recent experiences fishing for striper on amistad?

It's a tough lake to fish. You can see 20ft down. Use a long leader of fluro. If you find where the springs are - fish there. When you see "a fish" on the graph, fish that area.
It's been a little since I was on the lake. Last time I found a spot back up in a cove that was narrow and a creek channel. Marked a fish so I sat down in the middle of the channel and dropped baits. Fish never ganged up under me but I would catch one as they went back and forth working the channel. Good eating size is all I got that day. Lots of rock. Look for those areas as have nearby timber and other sticky things growing on the shore line for bait fish to hide.
I've never had a problem launching at Rough Canyon. Every time I've ever gone to black brush or some of those others closer to town on the Southside of the lake, I think every retard that lives in Del Rio was there.
