Well...This year is almost over & had to get back on my home lake today. Weather was totally awesome & so was the bass bite. The lake was really crowded, but just tried to go mostly where the people weren't. Ended up with 2 red ear 3 bluegill & 55-60 bass. Water temp was mid 60s almost everywhere except the discharge, where it was around 80 degrees. The big fat girls seem to be staging a little early this year which is OK by me. Big bass today was 6.2 lbs & a heck of a fight in the timber. She tried to wrap me up around a few trees, but eventually I won the fight. Overall today the bass were way bigger than the last trip 2 weeks ago. As said b4...Merry Christmas to all you Gil busters, bass busters, Carp & catfish chasers, deer hunters etc It's been a fun year chasing these fish around & looking forward to a better 2021...hoping we can put an end to the Covid next year...

What a day! Awesome bass Steve Merry Christmas

I went today. Most of the fish were in the 12 inch range that I caught but I caught a bunch of them. I did not try the trees but that was ok.Wind was whipping up pretty good. I did manage 4 really nice fish. On the plus side i ran into Alton Jones on the lake and at the ramp. He was really nice to share and show me more about using my Garmin units. He answered a bunch of questions I had. Some of them I had I was right in my assumptions and there were others I was way off base.

Tom...Sounds good...The bass are pretty active toward the middle and ends of these warm spells between fronts. Especially when you can get a day that's at least partly cloudy. I think this winter is worlds better than last year. Last year we had the big fish kill and the screwed up lake turn over thing going on & the lake did not recover til January. That's why I think the bigger bass are staging earlier this year than last. BTW...One of the best tree fields was the one just inside your super secret spot. I caught a number of quality fish in there. Had to fish the worm real s l o w at the base of those trees.

Great report. Looking forward to getting back out there. Looks like Christmas day has the least wind for a while. Can one of you guys ask my wife if I can go that day? ;-)
