Should be an extraordinarily bright star in the sky tonight, and with the winter solstice being tonight, might be a good view of it.

Does anybody know how high off the horizon to look? I can't find that info anywhere. Only to look to the SW.

About 20-30 degrees. You can't miss it. Jupiter will be the brightest thing in the sky except the Moon.

From last night (12/20).

Jupiter and Saturn is the bright light in middle of picture. You should be able to zoom in on it and see both planets. You can also see the reflection in the lake.
