 MinnKota Maxxum steering opposite direction

I just bought a boat with a MinnKota Maxxum trolling motor. When using the foot control, it turns the boat in the opposite direction. Anyone know how to fix this?

Do you mean the arrow on the trolling motor is pointing the opposite way?

When I push the foot pedal forward with my toe, it goes left instead of right.

Well on my motor guide if I push the top of the foot peddle down it goes clock wise. Heal down counter clockwise. You are saying yours is backwards??

Well I’ve never changed the cables on a minn Kota but I have on a motor guide and I’m pretty sure that you can swap the cables locations which would reverse the way it turns.

Cables are wrapped backwards. Easy fix.
