I am 99% certain we will see a follow up post about this if you do not have a Clear Texas Title for the hull and motor. Then there is the trailer issue. Let's hope it was a TX registration and still current or less than a year expired. They will put you through the wringer.

I'll use the drive thru at our county tax office.

You are supposed to have it on hand to legally operate your vessel. It comes with the reg stickers.

one suggestion, take the boat with you for hin verification.

Really? its on the Title

did mine in quitman, bought in missouri and had titles notarized. something told me to take the boat on a hunch.

they will want a pencil scratch of the hin but mine would not do it so I took a picture in, they still had to verify hin matched title/boat.

strange rules on boat registration but I got lucky.

at least take a picture of it to take with you, hin and whole boat so they can verify hull color matches and all that. cya

Update like Bob said there would. First Thank you CCTX for the WF suggestion, was actually a little closer than any other location. 15 minutes, very smooth and the Lady was wonderful!

Excellent.
I will now take back every disparaging remark I’ve uttered regarding Witchita Falls.
Several speeding tickets running through there to the mountains a few over the speed limit.

I did mine in Rockwall because the TPWD would not even answer their phone in Garland. I finally called Austin and they gave the info about Rockwall. That was surely a PITA. Had clear titles for everything, but the bill of sale only said boat and trailer. Did not include the motor. Lady wanted me to get the seller to sign and affidavit adding the motor to bill of sale. I told her to escalate to TPWD because I am not tracking down the seller in Sulphur Springs. She did just that and they said it was fine as long as I had the clear title. Trailer tags were easy in Frisco. No hassle at all.
